Year 11 GCSE Drama Students devised and performed their own original plays as part of their Drama exam on 22 and 23 November. They created stories which highlighted and explored the challenges around gender, race and mental health for women. They also considered how costume, lighting and sound could be used to enhance their theatrical performances, resulting in powerful and engaging plays.
Year 10 Dance Students had an exciting opportunity to take part in a workshop led by professional Dancers from the English National Ballet and an accompanying live musician on 18th November. Joined by students from Bishop Challoner School, they worked together to explore the performance of Akram Khan’s Creature which they recently had the privilege of seeing at Sadlers Wells Theatre. They created and developed motifs in small groups, inspired by the themes of the production and shared their choreographic ideas with each other during the workshop.
