On Tuesday 6th July, the Royal Society of Literature announced their new Fellows and the launch of a three-year school reading project. Mulberry School for Girls is amongst a handful of schools nationwide selected to participate. The school was informed that it had been paired with Kadija Sesay a British literary activist, short story writer and poet of Sierra Leonean descent and the publisher and managing editor of the magazine SABLE LitMag.

We look forward to Ms Sesay sharing her favourite novel with our Key Stage 3 students. Even more exciting is the goody bags and books the students will receive and the special book club that will be set up over the summer while they all read the text, culminating in a live Zoom workshop with the author in the autumn term.

We can’t wait to get started!
