Singing for Little Amal at St Paul’s

On Saturday 23 October, over 160 students sang their hearts out on the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral to greet Amal, an 11-foot-tall puppet of a Syrian refugee girl. Her journey across Europe brought focus on the plight of millions of refugees and displaced children around the world. Year 8 student Synicia stepped in on the day to the lead role and addressed the crowd, reading Little Amal’s letter. Mulberry’s gifts of welcome also included a garland made by Year 7 students, who were praised by producer David Lan for their creative work. Students wished Amal happy birthday in British Sign Language which lit the screens at Piccadilly Circus.
