Time for the Theatre

On Thursday 2nd December, 150 GCSE and A level Drama students across years 10, 11, 12 and 13, went to watch ‘Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time’ at the Troubadour Theatre, Wembley. It was a brilliant production, full of amazing technical effects and highly skilled performances, and all the students were totally engaged in the theatrical story telling of a boy called Christopher, who starts out to discover one mystery and unravels many more along the way. Drama students were able to appreciate all the different theatrical elements that go into making an original and creative performance. On Monday 6th December, the whole of Y7 went to watch ‘Red Riding Hood’ at the Theatre Royal, Stratford East. This is our annual Y7 trip to the pantomime where Y7s get to enjoy a wonderful theatrical experience, as well as preparing them for their Pantomime Drama learning in the Spring Term. The Y7s all joined in the pantomime, calling out ‘He’s behind you!’ and ‘Oh no you didn’t’ as well as singing along with the performers. At the end of the pantomime, many of the Y7s were talking about how much they enjoyed the bright sets, costumes and lights, as well as all the jokes, singing and dancing that had kept them entertained!
